Harish Chandra Postgraduate College, Varanasi is a Government supported the school and is one of the chief seats of learning of Eastern U.P. under the protection of Harish Chandra Vidyalaya Samiti (a nonbeneficial magnanimous foundation enlisted under Indian Society Act 1860.)
Bharatendu Harishchandra, the founder of the cutting edge Hindi Language established this foundation with five understudies of the territory in 1866. By 1910, the establishment had begun High School Classes. The Intermediate Classes began in the year 1939.
The Undergraduate Classes in Arts and Commerce started on Oct 4, 1951. From the start, the school was associated to Banaras Hindu University. The acknowledgment of the Law Classes was made conceivable in the year 1958.
