Assi Ghat Varanasi


Assi Ghat is one among the favored ghat and southernmost by location in Varanasi, where river Assi meets within the Ganges. The Ghat may be a sanctum as pilgrims do pray to Shivling which is situated under an outsized peepal tree and a temple to Asisangameshwara.

This ghats is the most visited ghat for recreation and during festivals. Generally, daily 200-300 people visit every hour within the mornings time, and on festival days 2500 people visit here daily. Banaras Hindu University students and staff visit here most of the time as it is nearby from campus. There are a lot of activities for tourists to do here. tourists can go for boat rides, go up in a hot-air balloon for an
aerial view of Assi ghat, enjoy the daily talent show in the evening, or eat at one of the many restaurants and cafes in the area.

Dasaswamedh Ghat Varanasi


Dashashwamedh Ghat is the main ghat in Varanasi on the Holy River Ganga. This Ghat was earlier know as Ramesvaram Ghat, is situated at the banks of the holy river Ganges. It is believed the ghat was built by Lord Ram so that Ghat is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Lord Hanuman's son of Pawan(Air) is known as strength and power.
Dashashwamedh Ghat is nearby the popular Vishwanath Temple Varanasi. This ghat was built by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao in 1748. A few decades later, Ahilyabahi Holkar, the Queen of  Indore redevelop the ghat in 1774.

Ganga aarti
Idol of "Ganga Maata" at the holy river at Dashashwamedh Ghat. Ganga Aarti is held daily at dusk. Several priests do this ritual by carrying deep and moving it up and down in a rhythmic tune of bhajans (prayer). The Ganga Aarti starts soon after sunset for 30-40 minutes. Many people gather at the ghat every evening to watch and participate in the bhajan.

New Kashi Vishwanath Temple Varanasi


Shri Vishwanath Mandir also referred to as Vishwanath Mandir and also know as New Kashi Vishwanath Temple, is one among the foremost popular temples and largest attractions for tourists in Varanasi.

It is also referred to as the Birla temple because it had been built by Birla Family. The temple was planned by Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya (Founder of BHU). The temple is opened for all religions. The temple is found on the Benaras Hindu University campus and is devoted to Lord Shiva.
Kashi Vishwanath Mandir was destroyed repeatedly in 1194 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, between 1447-1458 by Hussain Shah Sharqi, then in 1669 CE by Aurangzeb. Then In 1930, Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya had planned to duplicate Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir within the Benaras Hindu University and therefore the Birla family take responsibility to develop this temple and completed it in 1966. It took 35 years to complete the work.

New Kashi Vishwanath Temple is found around 1.5 KM inside the campus of Benaras Hindu University (from the most gate). It is around 3 KM from Durga Maa Temple, 7 KM from old Kashi Vishwanath Temple, and around 11 KM from Varanasi Cantt Station.

Bharat Mata Temple Varanasi



























This temple is dedicated to the Bharat Mata. It was constructed by the Babu Shiv Prasad Gupt and it had been inaugurated by Gandhi in 1936. The statue of Mother India is made up of marble which represents the entire India ( mountain, plains, and oceans of India). The Bharat Mata temple does not have a traditional statue of Gods or Goddess but it has a real map of Bharat Mata.

The map is carved in white marble that was brought from Makrana. Visitors will be impressed with the perfection of design in terms of latitude and longitude of the Bharat map; if measured in the scale you will see the map is absolutely perfect.

Durga Mandir is also called Durga Kund Mandir and Durga Temple is one among the foremost famous temples in Varanasi. This temple has great religious importance in Hinduism and is devoted to the Goddess (Maa) Durga. Durga Mandir was constructed within the 18th century by Rani Bhabani of Natore. Harishchandra Ghat Varanasi


Varanasi or Kashi or Banaras city has a total of 88 ghats on the Holy river The Ganga. Manikarnika Ghat Varanasi

Manikarnika Ghat is one of the cremation ground among the sacred riverfronts, alongside the river Ganga, Varanasi. It is believed that a dead person soul attains moksha, and hence breaks the cycle of rebirth when cremated Manikarnika Ghat. 
The ghat is never-ending swarmed with burial service gatherings, just as the chaperons who direct it known as Dom. It is spectacular for guests to see the chaotic action for the arrangement of burial services so freely, however, photography is carefully untouchable.

In Hindu folklore, Manikarnika Kund originates before the appearance of the Ganga and has its source somewhere down in the Himalayas. Consistently, after the floodwaters of the stream have retreated to leave the pool covered in alluvial stores, the kind is re-burrowed. Its environmental factors are cleaned and painted with splendidly hued society workmanship, which portrays the managing goddess, Manikarnika Devi, welcoming explorers to wash and love at its little Vishnu sanctum, and at the paduka (impression) of Vishnu set in marble on the bank of the ghat. The most significant of the lingams are the remaining parts of Tarakeshvara, Shiva as Lord of Taraka mantra, a "petition of the intersection" presented at death.

Rajendra Prasad Ghat Varanasi


Varanasi has 88 ghats on banks of the river Ganga. Most of the ghats are using as bathing and puja ceremony ghats, while two ghats are used exclusively as cremation sites. Most of the ghats were rebuilt within the 18th century when the Kashi (old name of Varanasi) came under Maratha rule. The patrons of current ghats are Marathas, Shindes (Scindias), Holkars, Bhonsles, and Peshwes (Peshwas). Many ghats are associated with legends or mythologies while many ghats are privately owned. Morning boat ride on the Ganges across the ghats may be a popular visitor attraction.

In 1979 in reminiscence and honor of the first president of India. Rajendra Prasad this ghat was renamed and made pucca with the aid of the Municipal Corporation of Varanasi. This ghat becomes the northern extension of Dasasvamedha Ghat.

Scindia Ghat Varanasi


Scindia Ghat is one of the famous ghats in Varanasi (Kashi) and nearby Manikarnika Ghat.
This ghat is also famous for having a variety of the most significant places of worship and Hinduism.  According to mythology,  Lord Agni, the Hindu's God of Fire, was born here. The ghat is named after the Scindias, who built it in 1830 so-known as Scindia Ghat. 
It is also considered and said that it was built by the Baija Bai. This ghat is very clean and peaceful so people do here meditation at the bank of the Gange River  It is considered that the Scindia Ghat construction has made about 150 years old.  A Lord Shiva temple can be see lying partially submerged in the Ganges River and it is said that ghat collapsed under its own excessive weight.

Shitala Ghat Varanasi




























This ghat was made by Bajirao Pesava-1 in 1740 pt. That is the southern extension of Dasasvamedha Ghat, where exists Dasasvamedha Tirtha and snapshots of Dasasvamedhesvara and Dasaharesvara. After the well-known Sitala temple there, this ghat is understood as after. On the eighth mild- half lunar months of Caitra, Vaisakha Jyestha and Asadha and Asvina people celebrate at the festival of Sitala Asthami.
